The conference venue is Arktikum (Pohjoisranta 4) which is a museum and a scientific centre as well as a cultural and architectural sight located within walking distance from the city centre.
Language and Interpretation
The conference materials will be in English. Presentations will be given in speakers’ own mother tongue and they will be interpreted into Finnish, Russian and Swedish/Norwegian.
Travelling to Rovaniemi
Travel connections to Rovaniemi are very good. Finnair flies from Helsinki to Rovaniemi five-six times a day and Blue1 six times a week. VR, the national railway, operates five trains a day. Many coach companies pass through Rovaniemi on their way to the North. It is advisable to book your tickets as early as possible.
Local Travelling in Rovaniemi
The Rovaniemi railway station is located about 1,5 km from city centre. There is no local bus driving form the station to the centre. The Rovaniemi Airport is located about 8 km from the city centre.
Airport – City Centre
Airport Express –bus from Airport to the city centre and back – drives to all the centre hotels as well as the bus station, ca. 15 minutes, fee 5 €/person. Airport Express departs from the airport immediately after every flight arrival. Check your hotel reception about the pick-up time from your hotel back to the airport. Airport Taxi: Cars available at the airport when flights arrive. Airport Taxi transports in the city area and the surroundings. Fee 9 €/person, takes more than one customer at the same time. For further information call 016 – 362 222.
